Belle Vue have launched their 2019 team-building efforts by confirming two powerhouses of the Premiership as their heat leaders, as they prepare to commence their assault on the top flight title.
Club asset Max Fricke returns to the Aces side for a fifth consecutive season in Manchester and will once again resume his role as team captain as well as retain his commanding position at No.1.
Joining Fricke in making his return to the National Speedway Stadium is Danish international and supporter favourite Kenneth Bjerre, who was integral to Aces’ 2017 Knock Out Cup glory.
Director of Speedway, Mark Lemon, said: “It was a difficult decision for us to have to omit Kenneth from our plans for last year under the “one eight-point rider per team” regulation.
“He was equally gutted to have missed out, so we’re delighted to have him back for 2019. He’s a highly consistent rider, an extremely professional individual and an all-round team player.
“Max was one of the stand-out performers of last season. Each year we’ve had the privilege of witnessing his development from a talented youngster into a truly world-class performer.
“He seemed to enjoy his role as team captain and his attitude in that respect was such that we felt he deserved the title again next season, and I’m sure he will rise to the challenge.
“We’ve got a lot going on around the club in preparation for the new year, commercially as well as with the teams, and we’ve got some very exciting announcements to make in the coming days.”
Team news is expected thick and fast in the week ahead, with some exclusive Aces and Colts announcements instore at the club’s Christmas Cracker event on Thursday, December 13.
Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start.
