Iversen Added To All-Star Cast

Hugely popular Danish international Niels-Kristian Iversen has joined the field for the 2018 Peter Craven Memorial as he prepares to get stuck back into full-time racing in Great Britain this year.
The King’s Lynn stalwart joins an already-glittering cast of riders who gather to celebrate 90 years of Belle Vue on March 24, including 2017 world champion Jason Doyle and GP newcomer Craig Cook.
Iversen is already a confirmed starter for this year’s Ben Fund Bonanza at Peterborough and has been certainly missed by the British public since stepping away from UK competition last season.
Despite not being selected as an FIM wildcard for the 2018 GP series, the current NSS track record-holder has big ambitions to return to the world stage after a tough end to his 2017.
Iversen said:

“It’s not been an easy few months with getting over injury but I’m well on the road to recovery and when I was asked to do the meeting at Belle Vue I was very, very keen.
“I haven’t really ridden the track since the 2016 Speedway World Cup so I’m looking forward to coming back for another go. It’s a really enjoyable circuit to ride and it creates great racing.
“I’m planning to do some solo practice but you can’t really measure your strength without pitting yourself against other riders, and I think the Belle Vue meeting will really test everyone involved.”

Tickets for the 2018 Peter Craven Memorial are now on-sale via the club’s website. The evening, which will feature many other motorcycling disciplines, gets underway at the earlier time of 6pm.
The Belle Vue Aces meanwhile are making preparations for their first meeting of the season against reigning champions Swindon on Monday March 19.
