The newly-launched FIM Monster Energy Speedway of Nations lands in Manchester on June 5, and Belle Vue CEO Adrian Smith has expressed the club’s delight at hosting such a prestigious event.

Great Britain take on Australia, Sweden, Czech Republic, France, Italy and Finland in a battle of the world’s best pairs at the National Speedway Stadium, which plays host to Race Off 2 on the calendar.

The inaugural event, Race Off 1, takes place in Germany on Saturday June 2 with the home nation meeting Denmark, Russia, Latvia, USA, Slovenia and Slovakia at Teterow’s Bergring Arena.

The top three from each Race Off will head to Poland for a two-day final at Wroclaw’s recently-revamped Olympic Stadium on June 8 and 9 to face off against the reigning SWC champions.

This morning’s announcement marks the culmination of many weeks of hard work and negotiations between Belle Vue Aces, Manchester City Council and BSI Speedway to make this possible.

CEO Adrian Smith said:

“We’re thrilled to be able to confirm that such a prestigious event as the 2018 FIM Monster Energy Speedway of Nations will be coming to Manchester this summer.

The National Speedway Stadium is a world-class venue and we’re very excited about welcoming a whole host of world-class riders to this great stadium once again."

I am sure the supporters of Belle Vue, and of course the wider British Speedway community will be as delighted with this news as we are.

I’m certain we can expect a great night of racing, and we are very appreciative of Manchester City Council for their support throughout our discussions with BSI to bring this event to the city.”
