The 2019 Manchester Masters

The mighty 1000cc Sidecars are heading to Manchester next Saturday (October 12th) for a night of high speed, fairing rubbing action at the National Speedway Stadium.

Manchester Racing are hosting the 2019 Manchester Masters at the the home of the Belle Vue Aces and the crews can’t wait to race on what is possibly the best racing track in the UK.

With the ACU British Sidecar Speedway Championships over, eighteen of the finest crews in the country will be lining up to entertain the fans with 20 heats of wheel-to-wheel sidecar action.

The line-up is headed by the newly crowned British Champion Mark Cossar with stand-in passenger, the very experienced Carl Pugh. Cossar has been the man to beat all season and will no doubt start as favourite.

The other crews that shared the championship rostrum Mick Cave/Bradley Steer and Paul Whitelam/Alan Elliott will want to finish the season on a high.

Until last season these three crews were unctouchable on the shale and all have enjoyed time racing in Australia, the home of sidecar speedway. Cossar has even beaten the Aussies in their own yard.

But the class of 2019 have real strength in depth and it didn’t go unnoticed when no less than nine of the sixteen crews had a least one win in what was an exciting night in Somerset in the summer.

The sidecars will be joined by the UK Flat Trackers to create what will be an awesome night of action on the shale oval.

Eighteen crews will be heading north to Manchester and the tapes go up at 7pm for the first race of over twenty-heats of fairing rubbing action.

With the entrance price only £13 adults, £10 Concessions, £5 Juniors (12-17) and Under 12’s Free it really is a great night for all the family.
