Belle Vue captain Max Fricke brings his blistering Aussie form to Manchester’s National Speedway Stadium on March 30 after confirming his place in the prestigious Peter Craven Memorial.
The 22-year old has already raised the bar on a spectacular 2018 campaign by dominating the Australian National Championships in January and picking up his very first national title.
He hopes to go one better in this year’s Grand Prix Qualifiers, being second reserve for this year’s series, and also has big ambitions for the Rentruck Aces’ Premiership title efforts.
He said: “Lemo [Mark Lemon] has put together a solid-looking side. To be successful in the league you’ve got to be as strong away as at home, and last year we were somewhat lacking away.
“It’ll be interesting to see what effect the changes we’ve made will have, but I believe we have a well-rounded team that has a good combination of riders and I’m really excited for the season.”
Fricke joins fellow Belle Vue Ace Kenneth Bjerre, 2017 world champion Jason Doyle and former GP star Troy Batchelor, amongst others, already confirmed for the club’s season opener.
