Worrall Expects Action-Packed Easter

Wolverhampton are next in line to face the Belle Vue ‘Rentruck’ Aces at the National Speedway Stadium when the Premiership Supporters’ Cup resumes on Easter Monday, April 22 at 12pm.

Like the Rentruck Aces, the visitors have made a strong start to their season with two wins in their Challenge matches against Birmingham and Edinburgh, and a narrow loss to Peterborough.

They kicked off their league campaign with a win over Swindon last Monday on home turf, in which they edged out the Robins 46-44 in a last-heat decider to claim their first league points of the year.

Both sides are aiming high in Manchester with a view to adding to their Supporters’ Cup points tally ahead of the return leg in Wolverhampton in the evening, with tapes up at 8pm at Monmore Green.

Club No.2 Steve Worrall said: “The Bank Holiday meetings against Wolverhampton are always action-packed. We always enjoy that Easter tradition and the boys are really pumped for it.

“On paper, Wolves have a very strong team with plenty of riders that are capable of riding our track as well as they ride their own, so I think it’ll be a very close one both at home and away for us.

“But the mood in the camp is great right now. Everyone’s pulling their weight and both Kenneth [Bjerre] and Max [Fricke] especially are absolutely flying, so long may it continue.

“Monmore green is a track we enjoy riding. It’s Ricky’s [Wells] former home track, he knows his way around that place and the rest of us are not behind the door for getting results there either.

“I think as long we remain focused, keep our eyes on the prize and everyone does what we need them to do, then there’s no reason we can’t replicate our early season successes against Wolves.”
