Belle Vue’s National League side hope to make it a triumphant return to Manchester this Thursday, May 23 when they meet the newly-branded Plymouth Gladiators for the first time this season.
The visitors have been consistent in the opening stages of their campaign and have proved themselves more than capable on the road with a handful of close encounters.
The Cool Running Colts, meanwhile, have waited patiently since their emphatic 63-27 win over Stoke at the National Speedway Stadium, and they’re targeting an encore when they finally come home.
Big guns Leon Flint and Kyle Bickley return to the side, having missed their trip to Leicester on Saturday, while Paul Bowen remains on the injury list after another round of surgery on his shoulder.
The club have called on Josh Embleton to fill his place at reserve, with team boss Steve Williams commenting: “Josh has been on the lookout for a chance to prove himself in the National League.
“He’s had experience with Birmingham before now, and because we can’t have a facility for Paul we felt this was a good opportunity to give him the chance to show what he is capable of.
“The boys are looking forward to getting back into action at home. It’s always nice to ride in front of your home crowd and hopefully we can put a few more points on the board for good measure.
“We have to be mindful of Plymouth. They have some very strong riders and we need to respect them, but the focus will remain completely on ourselves to produce a big performance.
Tapes up at 7:30pm for the Cool Running Colts’ National League clash with Plymouth on Thursday, May 23 while the Rentruck Aces prepare for another Bank Holiday encounter with the Wolves.
Premiership action kicks on at the earlier time of 12:00pm on Monday, May 27. Tickets for both home fixtures are available at the stadium on race day, or online at www.bellevue-speedway.com.
