Prowling For An Encore

Belle Vue kick off a very busy May Bank Holiday against the Wolverhampton Wolves in Manchester, where they’re targeting an encore of the performance they produced over the Easter weekend.

The visitors have undergone some changes since their last encounter, with injury victims Nick Morris and Jacob Thorssell having been declared fit to return to the saddle after lengthy spells sidelined.

It marks the first time both have been in action in the Premiership this year and the Rentruck Aces are on guard to repel a much stronger Wolves side now their original pack are back together.

The home team remain at full strength with an air of confidence about them following a run of encouraging results that has seen them start to accumulate a consistent stream of league points.

It’s a trend they hope to continue at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, as well as at Monmore Green where they will travel after the 12:00pm meeting in Manchester.

Team boss Mark Lemon said: “It’s difficult to predict how this Wolverhampton side will perform. They’ve not yet ridden as a team with Nick and Jacob so I’m sure we can expect some surprises.

“It doesn’t really change our game plan. Our focus is not on what they’re doing, it’s very much on the job we have to do, and the boys know that we expect nothing less than a big performance.

“They’re starting to find some good, consistent form at the National Speedway Stadium and that in turn is building confidence among the guys. We need to make sure to keep building on that.

“It is a long day with two meetings in two different locations, but the boys are absolute professionals and know what’s expected of them, so hopefully we come back from both with some big points.

The Rentruck Aces take to the track in Manchester this Monday, May 27 at 12:00pm. Tickets available at the stadium box office on race day, or secure yours at www.bellevue-speedway.com.
