Palin's Plan

Teenage sensation Jordan Palin has enjoyed a consistent run of results since making his National League debut for Belle Vue, and now the ambitious 15-year old is targeting even bigger goals.

He scored his first ever paid-maximum in the Cool Running Colts’ 50-40 win over Plymouth, accomplishing one of the goals he set out for himself just two months into the season.

He’s even surprised himself with the progress he’s made in such a short space of time, and admitted he never expected to bring in 11+4 in his first competitive meeting against Stoke at Easter.

“I was actually quite surprised how well I did at that first meeting,” he said. “I had hoped to get into double figures, so it was nice to get that first one out of the way. It really settled my nerves.

“And then to score my first ever maximum against Plymouth just felt unreal. I’d even said in the van on the way to the meeting I wanted to get a maximum; that was one of my goals for this year.

“I like to think I’ve been consistent since then. Another one of my goals for this year is to get out of the reserve berth and move into the main body of the team. I feel that’s where I need to be.

“So far, I think I’m moving in the right direction, but I really want to be racing with and against guys like Kyle [Bickley] and Leon [Flint]. They’ve got so much experience and I want to learn from them.”

Palin heads to Cradley on Monday, June 3 with the Cool Running Colts where they hope to secure their first away league points of the season against the Anchor Logistics Heathens.

The Rentruck Aces, meanwhile, take on Premiership rivals Ipswich at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday, June 3 where they hope to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Tickets for this meeting are available at the stadium box office on race day, and in advance online at www.bellevue-speedway.com.
