The Belle Vue Colts head to Cradley on Monday, June 3 where they hope to further establish their position in the National League top four after two big wins in their first three meetings.

Their recent victory over Plymouth saw the Cool Running Colts shoot up the pecking order and into top spot in the table, and now they’re on the hunt to secure their first away points of the season.

Club No.4 Paul Bowen remains on the side-lines after recently undergoing surgery on his injured shoulder. Guest rider Arran Butcher comes into the side at No.4 for the night.

Teenage sensation Jordan Palin said: “Cradley have been consistent since the start of the season so I think it’ll be a tough meeting. But I think, with our form right now, we can give them a good run.

“It’s still early season for us but every point is vital. It would be great if we could come away with the win, but at the same time we’ve set ourselves a minimum target and that’s to get at least a point.

“I’ve ridden at Wolverhampton on a 250cc, but I’ve never ridden it on a 500cc,” he admits. “But I’m not worried. It’s still the same track, I’ve just got twice as much power as I did the last time.”

The Cool Running Colts return to Manchester on June 10 when they face Mildenhall, after the Rentruck Aces take on Premiership rivals Upswich at the National Speedway Stadium on June 3.

Tickets for both meetings are available at the stadium box office on race day, or in advance online at
