The pressure is on for the Swindon Robins when Belle Vue journey to the Abbey Stadium on Monday, June 17 where they hope to continue their impressive winning streak in Blunsdon.
The Rentruck Aces recorded the biggest Premiership win of the season so far with their 62-28 defeat of Peterborough at the NSS last week, which further bolstered their position at the top of the table.
The CFS Filtration Robins, meanwhile, are in desperate need of points after a ten-day lull in fixtures, with their most recent result a victory over King’s Lynn to help lift them off the bottom of the table.
But they will have to get through an in-form Belle Vue side who have already demonstrated great potential on the road, and who are determined to make full use of their like for the Abbey Stadium.
Team boss Mark Lemon said: “We had a fantastic night against Peterborough. The boys dug deep and put on a great display and pulled off the biggest result of the league so far to date.
“We want to keep that momentum going on the road. We know we’re capable of getting the results we want, especially if we look back to how we performed at Monmore Green at the end of May.
“The boys like Swindon’s track but we’re not taking anything for granted. It’s been a while since they’ve ridden but that shouldn’t suggest they’ll be rusty in any way, so we need to be cautious.”
Next action at the National Speedway Stadium sees the Cool Running Colts take on Kent in the National League KOC on Thursday, June 20, before the club’s Summer Speed Saturday lands on June 22.
Tickets for the National League fixture are available online at www.bellevue-speedway.com or at the stadium box office on race night. Tickets for the Summer Speed Saturday are available on the gate.
