Belle Vue Are Busy Boys!

It’s a busy Thursday for Belle Vue as the Rentruck Aces journey to Ipswich in the Premiership and the Cool Running Colts welcome Kent to Manchester for National League action.

A win for the Rentruck Aces at Foxhall could potentially see them leapfrog back into first in the table, from their current position in third, should Poole fail to impress against Peterborough in Dorset.

And the Cool Running Colts could bump themselves up to third with another victory at the National Speedway Stadium, and they still have a handful of matches in hand over their closest rivals.

Belle Vue’s first attempt at Ipswich earlier this season emphasised the Witches’ strength at home, and they have maintaining solid performances home and away in their return to the Premiership.

And the Rentruck Aces will have to step it up.

Team boss Mark Lemon said: “We’re coming up to the business end of the season now, so the boys really need to step up their game away from home to keep up our challenge amongst the top four.

“Ipswich are a strong team at home. We’ve experienced that strength before, but Thursday’s a new day, the boys understand what needs doing so we’ve got to focus and concentrate on our goal.”

New averages mean a new riding order for the Cool Running Colts as Kyle Bickley steps into the No.1 race jacket for their vital home clash with Kent as they continue to catch up with their fixtures.

He said: “Considering we’ve had the fewest league fixtures, we’re in a great position at this point in the season and there’s no reason we can’t go all-out and aim for the top of the table.

“We’ve had some good results against Kent but we’re not complacent about this meeting. They have some strong riders and are quite capable of performing at our track, so we need to be on point.”

The Rentruck Aces head to Wolverhampton on Monday, August 5 before the Cool Running Colts take on league leaders Leicester at the National Speedway Stadium on Thursday, August 8.
