Into The Wolves' Den

Belle Vue hope to make a big impact when they head to Wolverhampton on Monday night, August 5 in the second of three crucial away fixtures that could well dictate their top four destiny.

The Rentruck Aces outperformed themselves at Ipswich last week, where they took a consolation point from Foxhall and went 8 points clear of fourth-place Swindon; and 10 points clear of Wolves.

Dan Bewley remains side-lined after aggravating a back injury in the British Final, but club bosses have moved swiftly to secure the guest services of Tobiasz Musielak for the evening.

Steve Worrall, who bounced back from a brief dry spell to score 8+2 at Ipswich, was a key performer in their previous win at Monmore Green and says his side are capable of repeating their success.

He said: “We know how crucial it is for our performances away from home to be on point. We don’t have much time left before the Play Offs and we’re determined to make the most of the time.

“We may not have gotten the win at Ipswich, but it was great not to come away empty-handed and as long we’re picking up points everywhere we go then we have a great shot at the title this year.

“It’s a shame Dan won’t be with us at Wolverhampton but I’m sure Tobiasz will do a good job, and if the rest of us can replicate our last performances there, there’s no reason we can’t take the win.”

The Rentruck Aces head to Wolverhampton on Monday, August 5 before the Cool Running Colts take control at the National Speedway Stadium against Leicester next Thursday, August 8.
