One Final Gambit!

It’s a big night in the Premiership for the Belle Vue Aces when they travel to the East of England Arena tomorrow, September 5, where the men from Manchester need a big result against Peterborough.

Their play off place hangs in the balance after Wolverhampton took a significant home win over king’s Lynn on Monday, leaving the Rentruck Aces just outside the top four.

And with this being their last league fixture of the season, they need to make an impact if they want to give themselves the best chance of making the cut once everything wraps up.

They have enjoyed consistent successes against the Crendon Panthers this year, but team boss Mark Lemon says his side can’t afford to allow complacency to creep into their plans.

He said: “This is the last league match, and the last roll of the dice for us. There are so many permutations surrounding the remaining available play off places and an away win is our only focus.

“The boys are preparing to win at East of England Arena. We’ve enjoyed a lot of success there before now and we’re certainly capable of repeating past performances against Peterborough.

“The Panthers will want to end their season on a high so we’ll be approaching them with a great deal of respect. But make no mistake, we’re going there for four points, nothing less.”

Silverware is still on the line for the Rentruck Aces when they face Swindon at home in the first leg of the hotly anticipated 2019 Premiership Supporters' Cup Final on September 12.

Tickets for both home meetings are available at the stadium box office on race night, or online at
